About Us Bobby Rowe’s Diesel Service was founded in 2004 after a long career with a major Detroit Diesel Distributor for over 25 years and other service including stint in Europe representing Detroit Diesel Corporation in the 1990’s as a Product Support Technician. This was a Very successful endeavor supporting DDC Distributors and engine owners from 1993 – 1997. Bobby – a long time diesel mechanic totaling over 40 years since his 20 year age period has experience many other diesel engine brands and has strived to keep up with the modern engines models. This includes Cummins, CAT, John Deere, Komatusu Lugger Engines, and many others. His recent endeavor is to move on to the DDC-MTU serves 2000 engines and has invested in tooling and equipment to perform major engine rebuilds, as well as diagnosis, trouble shooting. We offer support and knowledge on all the old 2 cycle Detroit Engines built by Detroit Diesel Engines and distributor modified in the past; such as, Johnson Towers / Covington Marine Units.

Bobby Rowe’s Diesel Service Inc. can test and rebuild electronic EUI injectors on S-60 and Detroit Diesel 2 cycle and DDC/MTU mechanical nozzles as well as some other brands of the same; similar design. We have a Machine Shop Service and Cylinder Head Custom rebuilding related to diesel engine repairs. We offer support on sturdy control systems which was used by Detroit Diesel Corp. Other services include low/late model production information and repair service on Detroit Diesel Engines for Marine Applications such as the 6V92 TAB – 625 bhp Engines, the 24V71 TA rated at 1800 bhp / also Generator sets of the same basic design and all DDEC 92 &71 two cycle late production models & DDEC controls systems, DDEC 2 thru DDEC 4, and DDC generator sets on any vessel and series 60 marine engines.
Our shop is a complete engine rebuild center and can do any type of engine overhaul on many brands of diesel engines. We specialize in Detroit Diesel mainly but can do most of all brands. We have tooling to do the majority of brands and can manufacture a lot of it in house , if required. The cleaning equipment here at BRDS such as a 500 gallon hot tank for cleaning Blocks, Cyl. Heads and any cast iron, steel, or brass- stainless steel as well. We have a large jet washer that can handle a 3406 or 3412 CAT cyl. block stacked vertically. The shop features a Nardini Gap bed lathe, a Bridgeport milling machine and a 3 phase power hack saw. We have a 46'' Travel Winona Van Norman Cyl. head surfacing machine which will handle most modern engine cyl. heads. We can perform service welding related to engine repair.
We specialize in cyl. block repair, cyl. head and many other casting failures which required machine work such as spun bearings in DDC 2 cycle main saddles and the ability to install oversize valve seats of guides in cyl. heads. We rebuild most of all our engine components in house such as roots blowers, cyl. heads, fresh water pumps and have turbocharger custom rebuilding in conjunction with turbo specialties in Chesapeake, Virginia. We are not just parts replacers but REAL mechanics!!!
We offer field services on yachts and commercial vessels and can do anything required on board which in some cases engines cannot be easily removed from yachts especially. We can remove most anything with assistance through yacht repair yards for in shop overhaul.
